Since 2007, the George & Enid Brooks Foundation has proudly awarded numerous $1000 scholarships to Paterson, NJ high school seniors. These scholarships recognize students who demonstrate active involvement in their churches, engage in community service, and aspire to serve their communities post-college. How To Apply For A Scholarship

Scholarship applications are open to high school seniors living in or attending high school or church in Paterson, NJ. Interested high school seniors should contact the George & Enid Brooks Foundation to confirm scholarship availability.

Our Recent Scholarship Recipients

Teresa Paulino, 2024

Teresa graduated from Paterson STEAM High School in Paterson, NJ.  She attends Christian Mission John 3:16 Church in Passaic, NJ.  Teresa is very active in many church ministries, including teaching Sunday School and leading the Children’s Dance Ministry.  Her pastor reported that Teresa is a strong leader and helps with everything asked of her--she puts as much passion into cleaning the church as she does into teaching Sunday School.  Teresa has also served her community by feeding the homeless, delivering food to people, maintaining a memorial garden at her school, and walking in a Breast Cancer walkathon and a March of Dimes walkathon.  Teresa currently attends William Paterson University where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education.   

Taryn McNeil, 2024

Taryn graduated from International High School in Paterson, NJ.  She attends Seminary Baptist Church, where she has served in leadership positions in several different ministries over the past 10 years, starting by serving as an Usher and a member of the Welcome Committee at the age of 8.  Taryn is passionate about community service, and is motivated by Luke 6:38: “Give and it shall be given unto you.”  After her family’s house fire, Taryn experienced first-hand the blessing of being assisted by her church community.  She is now paying it forward by serving in the Paterson Healing Collective, a local non-profit that provides support and intervention for survivors of violence.  She has also collected and distributed food for the homeless in Paterson.  Taryn currently attends Montclair State University where she will be studying to be a veterinarian.
